If you enjoy paging through design magazines, shopping for furnishings and have been redecorating rooms in your head or in sketches for what seems like half your life, a career with interiors is no doubt the choice for you!

Interior decorating is the decorative and functional planning of the interior of homes, and can extend to diverse areas such as restaurants, shops and offices. The role of an Interior Decorator is primarily concerned with the final finish of the Interior of a structure and is built on an understanding of numerous practical and business components.

DSSA's Interior Decorating course is split up into 2 modules. The first module, which is 6 weeks in length, covers the basic principles and elements of Interior Decorating and will touch on a variety of subjects such as colour, lighting, windows and floor treatments amongst others. The second module will guide the students through practical applications of the theory sections taught in module one in addition to advanced theory lectures on colour, form and planning.

The course runs from February until November and classes take place once a week (on a Wednesday in JHB and on a Thursday in PTA) starting on: Wed the 8th of Feb (2012) in JHB and Thu the 9th of Feb (2012) in PTA. Class times are from 09:00 - 12:00 OR 18:00 - 21:00.
